Portfolio - A Child-friendly Vegetable Garden

This was a large garden whose features needed updating and which was in need of a cohesive design to make the best use of the available space.

The client was a keen gardener and wanted some generous flower borders and a vegetable garden. The lawn was split into several different areas which needed to be amalgamated to make mowing quicker and easier. The patio needed updating and a pathway on which the children could ride their bikes was requested.

The patio was relaid in natural sandstone with an adjoining deck and pergola above it. There was a circular vegetable garden bounded by a sandstone sett path for bike riding. A large border was added as a cutting garden. Many old, unproductive fruit trees were removed and the lawn was made into a continuous area to make the space more open and to allow for easier mowing.
