Although we have been living in our house for over 25 years I had never really been interested or had time to do much to the garden. However when my daughter got engaged and said she wanted to get married at home I realised I would have to do something fairly drastic to make the garden fit for a wedding!

A friend told me about Angela and after telling her about my predicament she said she was sure she could help. My brief to her was to ‘get something colourful flowering in the garden on July 7th’ and ‘for it not to cost too much’.

Angela suggested that the easiest and cheapest way of improving the overall look of the garden was to create two flowerbeds under an existing pergola in the middle of the garden.  After a discussion about the type of flowers and colours I preferred she produced a planting plan, arranged for the beds to be dug, sourced the plants and came and planted them.  She was very flexible and would do as little or as much as I wanted – which was a huge help to me to keep within my budget.

She was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and patient all the way through the process, assuring me that something would be flowering at the correct time, (when I doubted it!) and giving me lots of advice on other aspects of the garden. 

Virtually everybody who came to the wedding at the beginning of July remarked how lovely the garden was looking and friends who had not been to the house for a few months, and who knew of my lack of gardening skills, were literally ‘stunned’ when they came into the garden.

I did own up that I had had a lot of help from Angela!

Having first met Angela through the recommendation of a local builder’s merchant, we were impressed with her initial thoughts and interpretation of our initial ideas for the design of a patio, pergola and flower beds to replace a piece of ’tired’ lawn.
